Young People’s Concert
Young People’s Concerts are fun, educational, interactive presentations of baroque music suitable for the whole family. Typically an hour long, Young People’s Concerts feature musical selections chosen from a concert program in the current season. Members of the orchestra share interesting information in a fun way to highlight the performance. At the end of the concert everyone has a chance to come forward, ask questions, and explore the instruments. We’re often not sure who is having more fun, the kids or their parents!
Young People’s Concerts are open to the public, to school groups, youth groups—to anyone who wants to learn more about music. They are also a great way to introduce young children to the music you love and to the excitement of a live performance.
Upcoming Young People’s Concerts:
November 17, 2018
Teatro Milagro and Portland Baroque Orchestra collaborate to present this very special Young People’s Concert. Watch an archbishop travel through Peru in 1767 in this performance featuring music from An Empire of Silver and Gold: Music of 18th Century Latin America. Teatro Milagro, Guest Director Dr. Daniel Zuluaga, five singers, and Portland Baroque Orchestra will perform this story in English and Spanish. This program is a one-hour family friendly version of the full “An Empire of Silver and Gold” program.
