As we look ahead, we plan to livestream a series of chamber music performances as soon as it is safe to do so. Artistic Director Monica Huggett is hard at work planning those programs, and we will share them with you as soon as we can.

Please consider donating your ticket back to PBO, in lieu of a refund. As we look ahead, we have plans to continue creating Great Music. Period. alongside our extraordinary musicians. March 19, 2020 | Portland Baroque Orchestra’s Board of Directors has approved a temporary mission change. For the duration of public gathering restrictions, PBO will anchor a city-wide livestreaming operation, offering single-camera livestreaming and outreach support to other Portland-area arts organizations. We are closely monitoring the evolving local and global COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation, and are receiving updates from World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control, Multnomah County, and Oregon Health Authority.

At-the-Concert FAQ

How long are your concerts?

Most concerts are about 2 hours in length (full Messiah performances are 3 hours in length), but please allow yourself ample time between engagements, as these times are not exact.

How early do I need to arrive for a concert?

Please try to arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time (earlier is better if you plan to buy tickets at the door). This gives you ample time to settle in and helps us keep the show on time and running smoothly. Latecomers will be admitted at staff discretion between movements or works.

We offer Pre-Concert Talks 60 minutes prior to most concerts (except Messiah). Free and open to the public, these talks are on topics related to the music being performed, and are presented by performers or guest scholars. They are great opportunities to learn more about the music and meet those creating it. 

Is there a dress code for your concerts?

While many people enjoy getting a little dressy for our performances, there is no dress code. If dressing up is not your thing, don’t worry – this is Portland so hiking boots aren’t out of place in our audience! In consideration of those around you, please remember that some patrons have allergies to strong scents including perfume and cologne.

I may have lost something at one of your performances, who should I contact?

First call the PBO office, 503-222-6000. We tend to take lost and found items back to the office with us.

Are your concerts appropriate for kids?

We recommend children be 7 years of age or older to attend PBO concerts.You know the kids in your life best, so please use your best judgement when bringing them to concerts.

Ticketing FAQ

I’m having trouble buying tickets online, can you help me?

Of course! Don’t hesitate to give us a call at 503-222-6000. If you are having trouble purchasing tickets online, we’re happy to take your order over the phone. Unlike the internet, our box office is not open 24/7. Hours are 9:30am-5pm Monday through Friday. If the box office is closed, leave a message and we’ll get back to you. Tickets can be purchased online 24/7 up until 2pm on the weekday on or before each performance. Please note that service fees apply for online, phone, and in-person orders.

Can I purchase tickets at the performance or do I need to do so in advance?

Because our performances frequently sell out (especially Handel’s Messiah), we recommend that you purchase tickets in advance or, better yet, consider a subscription for best prices and seats. Even if we are not sold out, there can be long lines or limited seats when purchasing at the door. If you must purchase tickets at the door, remaining tickets for that day’s performance are for sale at the venue box office, which opens 90 minutes prior to curtain for regular concerts, and 60 minutes prior for Young People’s Concerts. There may be a limited quantity of returned tickets for sale at sold-out shows, and will be resold on a first-come, first-served basis!

When do Single Tickets go on sale?

Single Tickets go on sale on August 1. All fees are included in the ticket price.

Do you offer discounted tickets?

Student & Senior Discounts | Discounted student and senior (65+) rates apply to our Section C seating for all of our concerts, subject to availability in that section. Student Rush tickets can be purchased on the day of show only at the venue box office and are $5 (valid for one ticket per student ID). PBO does not offer senior discount tickets at the door.
Arts for All | PBO is a founding member of the Arts for All program which offers $5 tickets, subject to availability, to patrons with an Oregon Trail card. You may purchase these in advance from the Box Office or at the door; showing your Oregon Trail card to be eligible.

What about group rates?

We do offer discounted rates for groups of 10 or more. If you are considering tickets as a company perk, you may want to consider sponsoring a concert series.

Can I refund or exchange my tickets?

Tickets may be exchanged for a performance of equivalent value (or the value applied to the purchase of a more expensive show) for a $5 fee per order by calling or emailing the PBO box office. Exchanges must be requested at least two business days before performance dates, and are subject to availability. Free ticket exchanges are one of our many subscriber benefits!

Remember, the sooner you exchange your tickets for a concert you can’t attend, the more likely you are to get similar seats to one you can!

Tickets can also be donated back to PBO as a tax-deductible gift by calling or emailing the box office before advance sales close or by returning hard tickets in person at the door.

What do I do if I lost my tickets?

DON’T PANIC! Take a deep breath, and give us a call at 503-222-6000. We can reprint your tickets free of charge. If it is the same day as the concert we can look up your order on the spot and reprint your tickets, but please be sure to come a bit earlier.

Trinity Episcopal Cathedral

Trinity Episcopal Cathedral is located at 147 NW 19th Ave in Portland, OR.

Parking: Lot 1 and 2 are the main parking lots. Lot 1 is locate between NW Davis and Everett streets on NW 19th Avenue. Lot 2 is located south of the Cathedral on NW 19th Avenue. Visitors for this event are welcome to use the lots without a parking sticker.

Public Transit: Trinity is accessible by bus lines 15, 17, and 77 visit TriMet for more information on planning your trip.

Kaul Auditorium

Kaul Auditorium, located on the campus of Reed College, is a multipurpose hall with excellent acoustics. Reed College is located in Southeast Portland, at 3203 SE Woodstock Blvd. Kaul Auditorium is on the west end of campus.

Parking is now open and available for the entire west parking lot. To access Kaul from the west parking lot, please enter through the Performing Arts Building. The Performing Arts Building has both stair and elevator access to the east end main level for access to Kaul Auditorium.
For walking access, please enter through the parking lot, take the stairs or elevator from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor, and exit through the east end of the building toward the Quad/Kaul.
For ADA access, please enter through the parking lot, take the elevator from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor, and use the ramp at the east end of the building to exit towards the Quad/Kaul.
SPECIAL NOTE: All exits from the 2nd & 3rd floors at the east end of the building exit behind Kaul Auditorium. There is no direct access into Kaul from the back of the building, please enter through the front main entrance of Kaul Auditorium.

No parking is available directly in front of the auditorium.  Patrons may be dropped off in front of Kaul Auditorium, but cars must then be parked in one of the available lots.
