Sanctuary Hall at First Congregational

First Congregational Church, home of Sanctuary Hall, is a historic landmark nestled in the heart of Portland, Oregon. The church is located on the Park blocks across from the Portland Art Museum and next to the Newmark Theater and Oregon Historical Society. The sanctuary is a testament to the rich tapestry of history, architectural elegance, and community spirit that has defined our presence for over a century.
Accessibility
ADA access to the main sanctuary performance space is through the main entrance at 1126 Park Street and then via the elevator from the first floor to the main sanctuary on floor 2. There are wheelchair and companion seats at every price point section. On the PBO ticket website, these are marked with a wheelchair icon and an adjacent seat is marked “C” for a companion. Please get in touch with the PBO box office at 503-222-6000 for questions and assistance with ADA seating.
**Please note that there are no elevators to the balcony level. Therefore, those who are mobility impaired or have difficulty with stairs should select seating on the main floor.
All venue bathrooms, including ADA-accessible bathrooms, are located on the church’s first floor. An usher will be available on floor 1 to assist you with using the ADA lift.
Parking
Sanctuary Hall at First Congregational Church is served by street parking and several large parking lots for your convenience. Metered street parking is available. The new “5 after 5” rule began September 2, 2025. This will allow people to pay for parking for up to 5 hours starting at 5 p.m. in the Downtown district. Please ensure your parking is paid in full as pay parking now extends until 10 p.m.
