Art of the Violin: Bach, Vivaldi & Leclair

The season launches with an all-strings program built around drama, rivalry, and virtuosity. Italian firebrand Pietro Antonio Locatelli and French master Jean-Marie Leclair display their radically different musical personalities. Locatelli’s music crackles with showmanship, while Leclair answers with devilish bite, each pushing the expressive limits of the violin. That spirit carries into Vivaldi, as two soloists trade lines in brilliant interplay. Bach’s beloved Concerto for Two Violins draws the two voices into a consummate exchange, its energetic lyricism providing the perfect capstone to the program.
