Rev. Daniel Burnett

Rev. Daniel Burnett, tenor, holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Portland State University. A well-known presence in the Portland music community, he has performed more than fifty performances of Handel’s Messiah with the Portland Baroque Orchestra. He has appeared and recorded with Cappella Romana for over fifteen years. His performance and recording experience also includes collaborations with the Cantores In Ecclesia, the Evenstar Ensemble, Seattle Symphony, St. Tikhon Choir, PaTRAM Institute Male Choir, St. Paul’s (Salem, OR) Chamber Singers, Oregon Catholic Press, The Artefact Ensemble, Resonance Ensemble, and the Portland Summer Festival. His work has taken him internationally, with performances in Canada, Czechia, Hungary, Israel, and Poland. He is currently Parish Music Director at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church in Portland, OR.
In addition to his musical career, Daniel holds a Master of Divinity from Multnomah Biblical Seminary and was ordained as a deacon in the Anglican Church in North America. He serves professionally as a clinical chaplain. His vocations in both music and ministry are united by a shared commitment to attentiveness to beauty, faith, and human connection, and to giving voice to experiences that often transcend words.
Daniel resides in Gresham with his wife and their three daughters. Outside of his professional responsibilities, he enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, and any opportunity to leave the city and spend time in nature.
