American tenor Richard Pittsinger has been credited with a winning versatility in his singing and stage presence. He has appeared on opera and concert stages in roles including Lurcanio in Handel’s Ariodante with Boston Baroque, Ulisse in Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse with ARTEK, Céphale in De La Guerre’s Céphale et Procris with the Boston Early Music Festival, and Orfeo in Rossi’s L’Orfeo with Juilliard Opera, among others. This season Pittsinger has relocated to Paris to partake in the 12th edition of Le Jardin des Voix, performing the roles of La Peinture & Ixion/Orphée in Charpentier’s Les arts florissants & La descente d’Orphée aux enfers. On both sides of the Atlantic, he looks forward to debuts with Jupiter Ensemble, Vox Luminis and Oratorio Society of New York, and return engagements with Boston Early Music Festival and ARTEK. He holds degrees in voice from The Juilliard School where he studied under Elizabeth Bishop.
