After completing degrees and certificates in music at Texas Tech University, the University of North Texas, and Indiana University, baroque violinist/violist Reynaldo Patiño has decided to enter a new phase in his relationship with music, embracing the idea of being an amateur musician according to its Latin roots, “one who loves.” Reynaldo is currently halfway through a new bachelor’s degree in business management with a concentration in accounting at Walla Walla Community College in eastern Washington.
Reynaldo still enjoys performing with groups such as Portland Baroque Orchestra and Austin Philharmonie while charting this new path. His main hobbies include spending time with his wife and two small children, cooking, reading sci-fi novels and books on anti-capitalism, fencing, swimming, and sometimes practicing the violin.
