Mezzo-soprano Clara Osowski, praised for singing “from inside the music with unaffected purity and sincerity” (The Telegraph, UK), is an acclaimed soloist and recitalist whose performances span the United States and Europe.
Highlights of Clara’s 2026/2027 season include performances of Handel’s Messiah with the Minnesota Orchestra, Kansas City Symphony, and Portland Baroque Orchestra, all under the direction of Dame Jane Glover, as well as Bach’s Mass in B Minor with Chicago’s Music of the Baroque and Baroque Music Montana. She also appears in Vaughan Williams’s Hodie with the Chorus of Westerly, Verdi’s Requiem with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, “Resurrection” with the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra, a program of arias from Bizet’s Carmen with the Mississippi Valley Orchestra, and with Sparks & Wiry Cries in New York. In August 2026, BIS Records releases her recording of Schubert lieder with pianist Timothy Lovelace.
Recent seasons have included Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and Bach’s St. Matthew Passion with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra under Ken-David Masur, Mozart’s Requiem with the Bach Society of St. Louis, Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius with the Chorus of Westerly, Dame Ethel Smyth’s Mass in D with the Berkshire Choral Festival, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with the Seattle Bach Festival, and a recital tour of the United Kingdom.
Her career highlights include a London debut at Wigmore Hall and Handel’s Jephtha with Music of the Baroque, later released on disc. On the operatic stage she has appeared as Florence Pike in Britten’s Albert Herring with Minnesota Opera, Baba the Turk in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress, and Ulrike in Kristina by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus with VocalEssence. The recipient of numerous international honors, Clara serves as Artistic Director of the Source Song Festival in St. Paul, Minnesota.
